AMY AHRENS – instructor
My objective in painting is to capture the essence of my subject as simply possible, to paint how the subject feels to me. I am inspired every day by fleeting moments of family life, the shifting colors of the landscape and all the beauty in the ordinary. I went back to school full time for 3 years at The Atelier (formerly Atelier Lack) in Minneapolis; and followed that with workshop and studio study with several great artists I admire. I am only now beginning to hear the whisper of my own painting voice and gain the courage to express and share it.
