Description
I created this somber oil and cold wax painting right after the Uvalde, TX massacre. I was so appalled that this event could even happen. How do I portray a gun massacre? I wanted the sympathies to be with the children and them never having the chance to “have another birthday.” It depicts a birthday cake with too much light coming from the candles. Instead of these children becoming new lights in our society, the bright flash of gunshots meant there would be never another birthday.
